ABOUT US

Kerala Printers Association (K.P.A.) was established in 1985 and is the largest organization for printing and allied works establishments in Kerala. The association comprises approximately 3,000 members across the state, including letter presses, screen printers, digital and sign printers, micro, small, and medium offset printers, large multi-colour presses, and pre-press and post-press units.
Achadi Bhavan
The state headquarters, “Achadi Bhavan,” a three-storied building, is located in S.S. Kovil Road, Thampanoor, in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. The Kerala Printers Association is registered under the Travancore – Cochin Literary, Scientific, and Charitable Societies Act, 1955, with Registration Number 511/1994.
K.P.A. has a robust organizational set-up at the local, taluk, district, and state levels. District and lower-level committees efficiently work in all 14 districts of the state, meeting every month to discuss all issues affecting the industry. It provides a platform for printers to come together, share knowledge and expertise, and discuss issues and challenges facing the industry. It also offers training and educational programs to help printers stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices in the field. The Association serves as a vibrant and convivial forum for its members to engage in productive dialogue, exchange ideas, and discuss issues that impact the printing industry in the state.

Kerala Printers Association is affiliated with the All India Federation of Master Printers (AIFMP), the national-level apex body of the Indian printing industry, headquartered in New Delhi. K.P.A. is an active affiliate of AIFMP and implements all programs formulated by AIFMP. K.P.A. has hosted two Governing Council Meetings and one Annual Generalbody Meeting of AIFMP in Kochi.
Printers Voice
The official organ of Kerala Printers Association, “Printers Voice,” is published in Malayalam regularly. It helps to interact with its members and disseminate association news, apart from technical and other important matters.

Seminars are regularly convened relating to the printing and allied industry, new technology, tax and labour welfare matters, subsidy, pension and other benefits from Governments, low rate loan avenues, tricks, and techniques to succeed in the printing industry, laws and licenses relating to the print establishments, etc., for the benefit of members and the printing fraternity at large. K.P.A. has set up its own panel of trainers to disseminate and impart knowledge to its members. During the covid pandemic period, K.P.A. has conducted over 200 online meetings and webinars. Tours and celebrations are also conducted for the entertainment of members and their families.
Drupa in Germany
To strengthen and improve the technical know-how and managerial skills of members, workshops and leadership camps are arranged every year, led by technical experts and renowned trainers. K.P.A. also arranges group tours for its members to visit national and international printing exhibitions like Drupa held in Germany.

K.P.A. believes that unity is the key factor for success in business. Small units may not be able to invest much individually, but it is possible collectively, especially with the help of governments. In Kannur District, K.P.A. members have set up a consortium for printing called North Malabar Offset Printers Consortium Pvt. Ltd. with the assistance of central and state governments, where modern and highly sophisticated machines are installed. Multi-purpose co-operative societies are also run under the initiative of K.P.A. in many districts.
Organizing printing exhibitions is another important activity of the association. Eight editions of the Kerala Printex Exhibition have been successfully conducted in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Kochi, Angamaly, Kozhikode and Nedumbassey. The exhibition was earlier branded as Kerala Printex, but considering the current trend, the packaging sector is also included, and it is now rebranded as Kerala Print & Pack, Kerala’s premier print & pack exhibition.
